As we navigate into the 2nd half of the year, one looks out for an uptick in demand for retail space and any other obvious trends. There’s been quite a marked boom in retailers looking to expand their footprints into smaller towns, which is interesting and exciting for those communities. The other trend is restaurants looking for smaller concept stores between 120 and 150m². Customers’ dining experiences have shifted to be aligned with loadshedding times so evenings out often end earlier than we were previously used to.
